Why can't I read the tags in the Guard Patrol system?

Firstly check the battery and then check configuration. If the reader is in boot mode, follow instructions on rebooting.  If the battery need changing and cannot be changed sucessfully within four to five minutes, then the reader will go into boot mode. 
 

In the Guard Patrol system what is boot mode?

If power has been lost for more than five minutes, boot mode will activate and you will need to reset the date and time.


How do I reboot the Guard Patrol reader?

Put the reader onto the data transfer unit, go into the configuration screen within the TopGuard software and click 'Set PC Date/Time'. 
 

How do I change the language within the Guard Patrol system?
 
To change the language preference, go into the 'Option' menu in TopGuard software and select language (English, French, German and Spanish are available). If you require an alternative language please contact Technical Support for further details.


Does the Guard Patrol System support Microsoft 
Vista?
 
For TopGuard software, yes, from v2.0 onwards. 


Why has my Guard Patrol data transfer unit stopped working?
 
Check that the data transfer unit has been reconnected through the original port - if a different port has been used then the PC will recognise it as new hardware and require drivers to be reloaded.
