The ProxiPen is compact, lightweight and easy to use. The ProxiPen will automatically detect and read a tag whenever it comes within reading range. The electronic components are sealed in a tough, waterproof polycarbonate housing that is resistant to heat, shock and hydrocarbons. The ProxiPen requires only one "AA" commercial alkaline, lithium or rechargeable battery that can be replaced without using any special tools.
The proximity tags are resistant to dirt, weather, grease, moisture etc. They can also be placed behind surfaces, eg wallpaper, glass, plaster, etc - a real plus in applications where either asthetics or vandalism is a consideration.
The TopGuard Patrol control software makes it easy to set up tours, download and evaluate the data and prepare reports. It also features fully user-editable text fields so that the software can be customised to accommodate any data collection application, including maintenance, service, cleaning, attendance and asset tracking.

The optional TopGuard Patrol Plus version also requires that the PC has a USB port, as it includes a copy protection device that must be attached to that port in order for the software to operate.
